Elmo - the warm & fuzzy friend that all of us love!

How can I resist creating this for a birthday order?

When I received this order, I sprang to action..creating his eyes, nose and smiley mouth using fondant! It was simply fun to mould his face features!

Coloring the icing is the toughest part as the ELMO red is a challenge. But it turned out really good!

R I B B O N S & B O W S

I was asked to create cupcakes with pink ribbons & bows for a birthday girl, Linda!

Instead of having all the same design, I decided to do a variety so that it will look prettier :)

Using fondant, I made the ribbons and bows so that it will have a 3D effect.

Here's how it turned out :

Hollywood rocks!

H O L L Y W O O D H E R E I C O M E !

This is 1 of my favorite creation for a 21st birthday celebration

The theme is Hollywood, with glitters and roses...and yellow is the color of the party...

To make it special, I bought a KEY to mark the independence for the birthday gal.

And created a 'nameplate' for her as well.

Next, I bought glittery cut-outs and paste on cookie sticks...

and printed out images of Hollywood on the glittery boards.

Don't you just LOVE the DRAMA effect!

The generous birthday gal and her mom has specially ordered cupcakes

as a thank-you gift for all the guests!

This took me 3 weeks to prepare with 2 days of baking and decorating

Happy Birthday to GAIL!

Gail's sister, Charlene made a special birthday order for 30 cupcakes on her BIG day! The requirement was simple...."she loves bumble bees and her fav color is sky blue". With that, I sprung into action cos I missed creating the cutesy bumble bees!

They rented the Cupcake Display Stand as well and here's the display...

Wedding bells for Si Hui & Li Sheng....

The month of November was the most exciting and busy month for me as I baked 321 cupcakes for my niece's wedding. With 3 designs, over 300 specially-cut fondant covers, 3000 flowers hand-made with love, a week of 3-hours a day sleep, a party of family helpers, here's the gorgeous pictures of the wedding cupcakes!

Here's the Close-Up Shots of the Wedding Cupcakes... 3 colors : Tiffany Blue, Peach and Ivory White. I painted silver shimmery powder to make it more bridal-like :)

All the flowers are hand-made one-by-one and put together with the silver and blue cachousn from Australia...

then a paper-flower was added to the exterior of the cups to make it more 'mcdreamy' and 'princessy'....

Wishing the newly wed couple a blissful marriage filled with love, joy and laughter!

A lovely Couple : SY & ZE

This couple came to learn Fondant Modelling and Christmas Cupcake decoration on a Saturday afternoon. Watching them reminds me of all the wonderful reasons why one falls in love.. the constant teasing of each other, stolen glances, coy smiles...

Doesn't she look familiar? You will remember she's featured in my blog earlier, when she came after school to bake for her boyfriend's birthday in Sept :) She's back, this time with her boyfriend as well.

Here's the cupcakes they decorated. The names were done by none other than ZE. I'm so impressed with him for trying, and doing a great job in not just the decor....but also....

I had great fun baking over the Christmas holidays, and my last order was just delivered only 2 days ago. Ain't that interesting?

Making the snowman, the hat, the present etc was hardwork, but nontheless, worth every minute of my time. Here's some pictures of the Christmas Cupcakes I did, with some of the figurines from overseas :)

I spent a lovely afternoon with Patricia & Shuwen, who came back for the fondant decor class. Using the different cutters, they cut out various designs for cupcake decoration..... A new student, Ezella, joined us later.

TRULY, DEEPLY, MADLY....

This bunch of girls are truly funny, deeply crazy...and madly loud :) There's so much fun and laughter in this class that it nearly got out of control... I felt like a discipline mistress, although when I was talking, everyone was talking too... This no doubt, is my funniest class :)

But hey, they just finished their exams...so it's right that they let their hair down, be a little crazy and have a fantastic time doing cupcake baking and decorating! It's party time gals!

The only thorn amongst the roses

There was a lot of fun, teasing and laughter during this class, as all the girls ganged up against the 1 and only guy in the class... but Daryl turned out to be my very capable assistant, and a very patient cupcake decorator...

Before long, all were concentrating on their masterpieces...

and produced all these beautifully-decorated cupcakes...

What a great sense of achievement, and what strong friendship and kinship they share! Immediately after the class, they were planning where to go and buy all the ingredients and bake at home :)

FUN With FONDANT Class

Charlene & Evonne are back to learn how to use fondant to make different shapes, colors, and using them to decorate the cupcakes. They brought along Geraldine, a very gentle & quiet girl....

They learnt how to manage the 'sticky' fondant, tint it to different colors, and cut into the various shapes they want... Stars, Crowns, Hearts, Flowers, Names, etc...

I gave them 4 cupcakes each to decorate with their own 'hand-made' decoratives...

ROMANCE IS IN THE AIR.......

ROMANCE no. 1

SiuYi came to meet me straight after school to have a 1 to 1 lesson, just to learn to bake and decorate all 15 cupcakes for her boyfriend’s birthday. For 3 hours, she worked so hard to present the BEST birthday present to her guy. She was ecstatic when she saw the end results. 15 D-LYCIOUS chocolate cupcakes beautifully decorated…plus some extras for her parents too.

SiuYi told me that’s the happiest moment of her life…cos she’s achieved something that she’s never thought she would. I’m soooo PROUD of her… and very HAPPY for her too J

Well done, SiuYi! Your boyfriend is very lucky to have a galfriend like you!

ROMANCE no. 2

Brandon emailed me a few times, asking me to bake special cupcakes for his gal. Patiently, he typed out the word and dates on each of the 12 cupcakes. His story is kinda sad…. His galfriend for 3 months is leaving Singapore to study overseas....so he wanted to do something special for her...

I wanted to create something that the girlfriend can keep for a long time. So I bought some very nice stickers for the names/ dates. And used gumpaste (instead of fondant that might melt) to form the base. This way, she can enjoy the cupcakes and keep all the ‘special tags’ for a long time.

Brandon smsed me later on to say “My gf really liked it a lot…really touched. Ty a lot.”

I was thrilled to meet these gals, ShiHui, Ah Xue, Nicole and my youngest student... JingYi, who is really the delight of the day with her non-stop questions and jokes :)

After teaching them how to bake the cupcakes, they proceeded to transform the cupcakes into work of art :) Here's some shots of them busy working on their cupcakes...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATALY!

I had an order for a 4-yr girl.

Her fav color is blue & purple

and her mom's fav color is pink :) So I had in my mind to do a combination of all the colors....

But first, I decided to do something special for both of them... So I did a beautiful cupcake with a Princess Topper just for the birthday girl!

And another one with a ROSE topper, for the mom

The request was to have the words "Happy Birthday Nataly" on the cupcakes... I did the characters in blue on pink icing.... and added some flowers on the letters to 'sweeten' the look.

Awwww... it looks better than what I expected :)

and another batch of different designs, with animals, butterflies, flowers...

all handmade by me.

and some purple and pink cupcakes...

Her mom was so pleased that she ordered another 30 cupcakes for the next day. But due to the overwhelming orders from Teacher's Day, I had to turn it down. Sincere apologies!

I was delighted to have 2 adorable girls attending my Cupcake Decorating Class,

Charlene and Evonne! Look how cute they look in the aprons :)

They learnt how to bake yummy chocolate Cupcakes, and

had loads of fun decorating them.

My nephew turned 4 years old on National day! What an honour! His wish list is lonngggg : STARS, Superman, Football, and a Santa Claus!

So, here goes...

50 cupcakes in blue and yellow were made, with stars and alphabets...

Next, I did some cupcakes with the "Superman" figurine....

I proceeded to make a small cake covered with fondant, with stars and his name on the cake, topped with the "footballer' figurines and

the 4 HUGE stars signifying his age...

The Cupcakes were displayed on my favorite cupcake stand...

Ahhh...1 more wish to go... A cupcake with Santa Claus....just for the Birthday Boy!

Christmas is early this year :)
